In this infertility treatment, immature oocytes are retrieved from the ovaries and
then matured and fertilized in vitro. The embryos are transferred into intrauterine
cavity.
This treatment is performed for patient with,
- Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS)
This is one of the endocrine disorders causing ovarian dysfunction in women in the
reproductive phase of life. Common symptoms of PCOS include irregular menstrual
periods and infertility from chronic anovulation.
- A risk of Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome (OHSS)
It has been characterized by the presence of multiple luteinized cysts within the
ovaries leading to ovarian enlargement and secondary complications such as abdominal
bloating, distention or ascites.
Retrieve immature oocytes
from unstimulated or minimally
stimulated ovaries
